Cleanse, Day 10 - Lunch.
I was just telling someone that this cleanse wasn’t so bad, that I haven’t had any real cravings so far. And then I woke up today wanting to eat eggs for breakfast, maybe with a side of something greasy and meaty. I just felt tired of watching what I’ve been eating and being so conscious about my every choice. Instead of caving and running straight to a diner though, I went to yoga and felt a bit better when I was done. Not quite eggs, but I had a coconut water and a banana as my breakfast/post-yoga snack.
It also helps that I don’t have much in my fridge that isn’t cleanse-friendly. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to eat for lunch, so I started my Cinco de Mayo celebration early with a vegan taco. From the bottom up, there’s a corn tortilla, soyrizo, sliced avocado, salsa, and a soy-based sour cream. I am a huge fan of soyrizo, specifically El Burrito’s, and I will occasionally choose to eat it even when meat is an option. The sour cream, on the other hand, I’m not so sure about. This was my first time trying it - I had decided to pick some up because I had heard good things about Tofutti’s, and it happened to be on sale. It’s a little bit thick - somewhere between traditional sour cream and cream cheese consistency - and I’m not sure I like how it tastes on its own. I couldn’t tell the difference so much when it was in the taco though, so I’ll continue to combine/hide the rest of it in my food.
